The Amazon “Buy Box” is the “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” section of the product listing. It’s important for all sellers to have your products in the Buybox as roughly 80% of all Amazon sales are made through it.

With APE, we monitor your buybox status when running the price test in real-time. Once the buybox is lost, wou will see this in the Buybox Loss section on the Compass page of our dashboard (see picture below).

Why am I losing the buybox?

Although our algorithm tries to make sure that you won’t lose the buybox, in rare cases it can happen that Amazon takes away the buybox. This can happen due to uncompetitive prices across marketplaces, low inventory, Amazon fair price policy and many other intransparent reasons. In such a case,

• it’s recommended to change the test prices to the base price while continuing with the test
• After the price test is done, you should unselect the Winning Price for this ASIN as it might happen that a higher test price might be chosen due to its Parent ASIN structure i.e. other ASINs within the Parent ASIN perform better with a higher price than the ASIN who lost the buybox; this can happen that the ASIN didn’t get sold at all and had no impact on the Parent ASIN.
